An evening of Bengali Folk Music with traditional Dhamail dance, & the celebration of the birth-centenary of poet Allen Ginsberg.

Curated by poet Ahmed Kaysher , the session offers hypnotic presentations of Bengali spiritual/ mystic, folk and Vaishnav Music along with a very participative, traditional, colourful and therapeutic form of dance called Dhamail.

The session will also celebrate the birth Centenary of a leading American poet, a pioneering figure of Beat Generation Allen Ginsberg who was hugely influenced by the life and works of Bengali mystic minstrels.

The celebration entails a breathtaking presentation of Bengali mystic/spiritual/folk music with recital of complementing verses of Ginsberg, in addition to insightful talks, reading from his works and visual interpretation of his poems.

The event is part of the celebration of South Asian Heritage Month by Tower Hamlets Council.
